Who / What Got You Started in Bowling?
My family. I was born into the business, you could say. Grandpa owning a pro shop and managing a center, grandma handling the books, mom bartending while all three competed in multiple leagues and I was in a crib behind the counter… It was a no brainer I’d end up loving the sport.
First ball: Scooby Doo Viz-A-Ball
What Do You Love About the Sport?
There are two things I love most. First, bowling is a sport where there are multiple ups and downs. It teaches humility SOOO well when you can have a high 700 one day then two days later barely break 500. And the fact anyone, from the amateur to the pro can experience that makes it even better.
Second, the family made. Bowling has allowed me to gain such a large extended family and the support we give each other is crazy! From gaining “bowling moms and dads” to a West Coast Bestie, bowling has made my life a great one.
Favorite Bowling Memory
My absolute favorite memory would be at 7 years old, my dad looks at me and says “we got time before I gotta go to work. Let’s bowl a few games.”
I had never beaten him before but shot a 145. New high game AND beat him that day. From then on to the day he passed away, I NEVER let him live down the fact he got beat by 7 year old girl!
Who is Your Favorite Bowler?
Liz Johnson or Lisa Wagner
Both were never scared to bowl against the guys and were a huge inspiration to me growing up… a young girl who ALWAYS ended up bowling with and against the guys!
