Who / What Got You Started in Bowling?

I developed a love for bowling after my father introduced me to the sport when I was about 12. I had never participated in the youth leagues, but my father and I would frequent the St. Charles bowling center in Waldorf, MD, where games and shoe rentals were just $1 each (at the time) when we could. I loved the activity, and I always had a really fun time with my dad. My interest and passion for the sport grew tremendously when two female athletes were needed to field the Towson University women’s bowling team back in 2002 and 2003. I joined and learned a lot about bowling in those two short years, competing against some of the most competitive bowlers from UMES, Morehead State, Penn State, and Morgan State University.

What Do You Love About the Sport?

I really enjoyed the fact that bowling was a sport where gender didn’t truly matter and that women could be just as competitive as men. It motivated me to learn more and grow further (and challenge others to “shoe up” with me).

Favorite Bowling Memory

In 2022, I also received a new opportunity that I gladly agreed to. I was asked to serve as an assistant coach for both the boys’ and girls’ bowling teams at Trinity Prep School, where I work in Winter Park, FL. I have enjoyed every minute of helping those students fall in love with bowling and teaching them that they can have fun while learning a new discipline. Two months later, I bowled my very first 300 game. That was a great year.

WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE BOWLER?

The three players I remember loving to watch on TV in college were Kelly Kulick, Chris Barnes, and Mike Fagan.
